Anyone can find nuggets, if there are nuggets to find. The point was... you easily washed away 4oz in non-nuggets. If you had those, you should have had 30x more of the smaller stuff. Which would have made your 1/2oz into a 4oz find.
1. Classify wet stones in a bucket. They don't need to be in running water where they may wash away. Gold is NOT superglued to the floor.
2. only have 1/2 your sluice-box? full of water, washing only small stones 1/4...

Just trying to ... Just trying to help? you out. Like the other person told you, get your sluice out of the water, only the mouth is in the water, not the entire thing. Prop it on rocks or get the legs for it that are adjustable. You may need to place a big rock across the top to keep it from being moved by the water flow. Play with the angle to find the proper water flow to wash the rocks down it by itself but slow enough to keep the black sand and gold. only about an inch of water running over the ripples.
your sluice should ... your sluice should be sitting higher in the front so you dont get all that bild up of rocks but still watch a few youtube videos on sluice boxes? gold is heavy so it wont go anywhere esply..your picker awesome
